There are a lot of people who have never gone clubbing for one reason or another and it’s not really something to be embarrassed about. People have their own interests and partying all night is not exactly for everyone. For those who are going clubbing for the first time, don’t worry since it’s not that complicated. With that said, there are a few things that you should know beforehand in order to make the experience as enjoyable or tolerable as possible.
Clubbing is a predominantly youth-centric scene, which means that people in their late teens to early thirties are going to be coming in droves to dance, drink and have fun all night long. As a result, expect clubs, especially the really hot ones to be crowded. If you have never been clubbing and actually prefer wide, open spaces, this might be a problem. Just give it some time, however, and you’ll eventually get used to it.
A lot of clubs these days don’t allow people to smoke in the communal areas of the bar. That’s what the smoking lounge or the VIP area is for. However, you should still expect there to be some pretty strong smells. You are entering an enclosed space with a lot of people, booze, body odor, and cologne after all. If you’re no used to such smells, it’s going to assault your senses at first. So be ready for that.
Of course clubs are going to be noisy, it’s a highly charged place where people go to blow off steam. There will be shouting, raucous laughter, and the music is going to be turned up to a hundred.
This is actually more to do with your preference than anything else, but most clubs predominantly use pop music to set the mood if they aren’t using dubstep or whatever new-fangled tunes are popular these days. You’ll just have to bear it if you’re more into classical or country music.
Finally, conversations are likely to be shallow when clubbing. In fact, there won’t likely be too much talking when clubbing. Don’t expect much chatter when going out dancing.
